At Impruve, our mission is to close the critical gap between strategic intent and tangible results—what we call “Execution Leak.” It occurs when tasks, insights, or intentions fall through the cracks due to overwhelming workloads, lack of real-time support, or missing alignment.
As founders, our extensive experience building & scaling companies led us to believe that the power of Large Language Models could be the solution to Execution Leak, but only if that LLM-superpower is accessed at the right place, right time, possessing the right context, and auto-prompted in an anticipatory manner.
Thus, when designing our core features, we asked ourselves: where and how does the Leak occur at various layers of Execution?
After much iteration, we landed on self-generating “Smart To-Do’s” and “Calendar Assist” as the foundation of Single Player and Team Mode on Impruve.
Here’s why that’s the foundation, and where your AI-sidekick “output” evolves from there:
LLM-Based Tools: A Game of “Inputs” and “Outputs”
Every LLM-powered tool operates through a cycle of Inputs and Outputs.
With an aim at requiring zero user labor, Impruve’s Inputs derived from your ordinary workflows. Think of it like a “double dip”: Think of it as a “double-dip”: if you’re already hosting a Zoom meeting, chatting on Slack, or managing a Google Calendar event, why not let that same activity fuel an AI-sidekick that takes tasks off your plate?
Our Inputs include these ordinary activities, automatically captured and processed by Impruve’s AI engine. Now, with Inputs covered, how do we determine Outputs?
Defining Outputs: The Taxonomy of North Star Execution
With an array of possible Outputs, focusing our product required a clear lens. That’s where our Taxonomy of North Star Execution comes in. This taxonomy is structured across layers—ranging from Tedium to Strategic Flow and finally to Leadership. For each layer, we evaluate whether an LLM-powered tool could enhance productivity, either by lightening the load (offense) or supporting high-value work (defense).
Through this lens, we identified the foundational need for “Smart To-Do’s” and “Calendar Assist,” while also mapping out the logical expansion of your AI-sidekick’s labor as you expand from Single Player to Team Mode.
The expansion follows our logic of being a “backbone” type tool:
- Tedium Layer: Handling repetitive tasks, so knowledge workers can focus on more strategic work.
- Strategic Flow Layer: Supporting workflows that require deep concentration, keeping the user in their optimal work state.
- Leadership Layer: Enhancing leaders’ ability to coach, strategize, and connect, enabling a focus on high-impact decisions.
A Look Ahead: Single Player vs. Team Mode
In Single Player Mode, individuals can use Smart To-Do’s and Calendar Assist to manage personal productivity
In Team Mode, managers can enable Impruve’s tools for collaborative productivity and alignment across teams.
Impruve’s uniquely focused approach allows us to expand and tailor our Outputs as we continue to evolve, ultimately creating a future where your AI-sidekick anticipates your needs, reduces friction, and empowers you to achieve meaningful results with less effort. This journey begins with Smart To-Do’s and Calendar Assist but will grow to cover every layer of the North Star Execution Taxonomy—helping you and your team stay on track and perform at your best.
